Has anyone used it? Is it any good?

I’d not bother! It’s £50 or around that for nothing more than a air can service on a shock. Going off that a fork service is probably only wiper seals and oil! Look around for someone who can service the firms fir you.

it gets sent off to their workshop in Keswick.

we used to send customers forks and shocks up there, some of the services were flawless, other times we had “problems”.

I’d send it to a proper specialist like Mojo or TF 😉

Personally, I would too, but this is my brother and we have an Evans about 10 miles away. I will pass on the info, cheers.

I wouldn’t. Things may have changed but when I had probs with a fork (fox float) on a new bike they ‘fixed’ it but had to go back 3 times. first they broke the lock-out, then they over inflated the air cartridge and blew it then mashed the washers inside and it leaked oil out of the bottom. It’s not rocket science but they managed to wreck them each time. eventually I think fox sent a whole new crown/legs. only the lowers are original!
So, no. Don’t go to evans for fork servicing…

What are the forks? If it’s Rockshox and you’re okay with doing some bike fettling, consider DIY.

I say Rockshox as it’s the only ones I’ve done. Others may be just as easy, don’t know.

Basic RS lowers service is simple. Get the kit from TF or wherver, check out some of the videos on doing it. Generally it’s loosen bolts at bottom, whack with mallet, pull apart, clean, reassemble and stuff new oil in, refit bolts. Possibly may have to do some seals also but they might be okay.

The top big wiper seals are a little more effort though technically simple. Better with a tool to knock new seals in. Again, may not need doing.

Rear basic air can service is likewise simple, especially the likes of Fox. Twist can off, clean up, replace seals, add oil, put together again.

Basic servicing’s basically as hard as pouring a shot and wiping your bum, and not even at the same time. Shock servicing is slightly harder, it’s like opening a jam jar, pouring a shot and wiping your bum.

For anything more, or if it’s not actually working, better to get a pro in imo. I’m a decent fettler but if I don’t know what’s wrong I can’t fix it, and throwing service kits into something without knowing what the issue is might fix things but might not. Suspension that doesn’t work right ruins rides, that’s worth a few quid.

Evans everytime! Me and my riding buddies all used to use TF or Mojo but as their prices have gone through the roof we’ve been using Evans for the last couple of years.
The chap who runs it has been there for donkeys years and knows his stuff.I think there’s only 2 people there so you can always get to speak to the guy whos done your fork which is good. All of us have nothing but good experience and theres free postage to and from any Evans shop.
Had new stanchions and bushes in my fox 32s and they came back like new.
They even heli-coiled my stripped disc mounts for free!
