One of the things my dad wants for his birthday is a teapot that actually pours well and does 1-2 cups at a time.

I know just the item, but I’d like to get a picture of him etched onto it. Does anyone know if this sort of service is commercially available anywhere?

Look for a laser cutting / etching servive like cutlasercut. They can use thermark to etch onto stainless using a CO2 laser.

They may even have a fibre laser that can etch the metal directly.

They never advertise themselves well – but anywhere local that does things like trophy engraving might have a solution for you. Some of them have more tricks up their sleeve than you’d think and compared to companies offering CNC / laser work they might be more accustomed to applying images to irregular shapes
