I’ve got a weekend off being a devoted dad so am hoping to ride tomorrow.

But is it singlespeed/mud tyres time or can I still take a geared bike?

    No!

I was out last night. Its still quite firm, with a greasy top layer. Gears is fine. You will get muddy, but most of the trails are covered with leaves and some are even dry.

    How goes parenthood?

It’s good thanks, he’s nearly 8 months now.

I’ve only ridden twice off road since Feb, so I’m really looking forward to getting out.

    How’s things with you?

bikebouy, I should hope not. Any CXer who even cracks the resemblance of a smile or gives way isn’t worth their salt in my book.

Good thanks. Doing more road than MTB, the littlest is now 1 so it’s nursery time again, gulp -£££££

Probably out for a night ride next week if you are interested?

I’d love to but I’m working in Kensington so don’t get back until 7.00ish then by the time I’d get sorted and get over to the forest it’d be about 8.30, is that too late?

Glad I took the singlespeed today, I found lots of the greasy mud. It was… erm lovely.

That’s not mud, that’s lovely!!! In some places round my way, the axle deep mud only dried out a few weeks ago!!
