Visited North Norfolk over New Year where I grew up. Was huge fun to recreate my own childhood favourite activity with my 4 yr old. There’s miles and miles of tracks up here, Mum used to let me steer our Austin Maestro around for hours, we were even allowed to sit in the boot and hang our feet out the back.
Took my friend and his daughter along, both kids had a whale of a time finding the deepest puddles they could. Also, as the back window goes down they could hang out the back and shoot baddies.
I miss the slightly lawless aspect of living in proper countryside.
My new town runabout was a blast, made it through a saturated ploughed field, which in retrospect was very, very foolish.
Good times.
Difference is, they were allowed in by the fire to sit on iPads whilst muggins jetwashed the car. As a youth I’d have been handed an hose and told to help.
WANT! Really want a big truck to mess about in, but the Mrs says I have to keep the jag for another year to use as our wedding car in November, problem is rust setting in and mot in August I want to move it on now before it starts costing me an arm and a leg in sheets of steel
Trail rat. Air filter is at the top of the wing, not intending to do any wading, I’ve got carpets in there. if I wanted to do that sort of thing I’d have gone for the hose out option on the left here:
I’m loving the truck, it’s 20years old now. I’ve had string of slightly left field motors but I think this is my favourite. (For now anyway…)
Generation 3 . Pick your territory and your name tbh, it can be a 4Runner or a Surf, over here it’s a Land Cruiser Colorado. This particular model is a Hilux Surf SSR-G.

Well to me it looks like a KZN 185? so a Surf 😀 Had an LN105, LN106 and an LN107 SSR.
I had an almost identical surf to that – same colour, same spec, same ‘Super Power Rear Under Mirror’ on the rear spoiler… 😆
It was probably the best car I’ve ever owned – put over 100K miles on it with not much other than routine servicing other than a few track rod ends…
If the London LEZ hadn’t stopped me from taking it to Heathrow I’d probably still have it (it was registered as a 4×4 light utility not an estate car so wasn’t allowed inside the LEZ 🙁 )
