Moved into a new house recently which has engineered wood flooring that’s got paint spots where the skirting has been painted. Judging by the paint tins left by the previous owner it’s water based paint. I’ve tried some general purpose cleaners but it doesn’t want to shift.

Any ideas what to use without damaging the floor.

What sort of finish is on the wood?

I don’t have experience of engineered floors but with general timber furniture I often find its better to break out the abrasive tools rather than the Mr sheen. A cabinet scraper (edit: or just a bare Stanley blade) is perfect for removing paint splats, often works well even over gloss varnish. Alternatively steel wool or similar. I’ve done this on my cheap laminate flooring with excellent, quick results.
