    Quite high in fibre which isn’t exactly what you want in a race, but Ok for a pick me up along steady day.

    Lots of cheap dried fruit from the supermarket, half in a blender, blitz and add just enough water to make a pulp. Stir it in with the rest of the fruit and some soft dark sugar in a saucepan, and add oatmeal untill you get something resembling flapjack mixture, bake like flapjack.

    It’s pretty much fruit flapjack with no butter, the blitzed fruit binds it together nicely.

    Or more simply, portions of dried fruit, in a load of coin bags is pretty easy to scoff on the go.

    I just buy fig rolls – can’t be bothered cooking anymore ! they slot so perfectly into the tri-bag on the top tube behind the stem 🙂
