I’ve read here that the original E29 works pretty well with 2.8in B+ tyres.

Has anyone tried it? How did it go? Were you already using the 650b yoke?

I’m thinking of getting some of the Hope 35W Hoops – which will fit both my E29 and Solaris.

Yep I have some 2.8 nobby nics on mine with WTB Scraper rims. They fit fine. I dont have the 650 yoke. I do find B+ is terrible in the wet, just never seems to grip when cornering but they are good fun when dry or mildly moist. In winter or for anything aggressive I swap back to the 29 rims.

Good to hear thanks danbo, I was thinking Nobby nic apex front and wtb ranger tough carcass rear.

Bit wary that the tyres may not be able to cope with hitting rocks at the speed the bike will want to go, but there’s only one way to find out.

I rode BPW on mine with no problems. Including all the rocky trails and the Join the dots first jumps and drop. Not punctured yet.
