I’ve heard of 5 people whose email has been hacked in the last couple of days. BT and Yahoo . Is there something going on with Yahoo that anyone is aware of?

Mine too, yesterday. BT “help” desk say it’s my fault for clicking on an infected message, which immediately sends out messages to my whole address book. Not true: I started getting emails from myself to my phone whilst the computer was off, and they are only addressed to contacts stored online by BT Yahoo. I think their server has been hacked.

Likewise, my yahoo was hacked yesterday too. Full password changes & full pc scan later, it’s a proper pain!

My yahoo was used to send spam yesterday. Account is now deleted.

Had the same thing a few months ago with a BT Yahoo account.

Found the below thread and it appears to be widespread.

According to the above if you check the activity on the account you’ll probably find a yahoo mobile login from outside your usual usage (mine was India) which is apparently how access has been gained.
