  • Electric coolbox not working with mains adapter….

    Hi all

    I have recently bought one of these coolboxes (Amazon bargain at £25) and it works fine when plugged in to the 12v supply in the car. However, when I use one of these it doesn’t work. Is this because the adapter isn’t rated enough? The adapter works fine when running two in car DVD players via mains power.

    That adapter will be way too weedy for a cool box. Maybe a 5A one. Is there anything written on the box in terms of power requirements?

    I need to check the output but I guess it is that. On looking a bit more, there are coolbox specific ones that are rated for use with them.

    Yeah. Needs more amps….peltiers use quite a lot of power.
