Sorry to raise this one again, but I'm getting confused. For my Easyjet flight on Friday I have booked one bike into the hold, no other hold bag – everything else'll go in my hand luggage. This in theory gives me 32kg hold allowance for the bike (and just the bike, although I'll probably pop my tools in there).
However, on the booking confirmation, it says this "the passenger in this booking may check in 0 hold bags; the total hold weight must not exceed 0kg…. Payment has been taken for 1 bicycle" (which would surely mean hold weight must not exceed 32kg).

Dumb question, but do I need to pay for a hold bag as well?! I'd rather not start the trip with a big brouhaha with Easyjet.

Yeah you could ring them – however don't expect them to know the answer

Same at the airport – they never seem to know their own rules

FWIW – I don't think you'll need to pay for a hold bag unless you take one
