looking for a new post as my thompson elite is geting old and dousent want to grip in my frame anymore nomayer how tight i do up the qr so its being demoted to my commuter

to replace it i would like ither a easton alloy or another thompson
BUT…

am i right in thinking one would be more forgiving than the other? just unsure which way it works what materials are stiffer than others
being on a rigid ss its abit on the harsh side anyway.
