was going to go with alloy ones for new bike (Soul) that LBS is building, but now have a carbon option…..

are they really more comfy ?

    100% yes from me.

I have both on different bikes and can really tell the difference – the carbon ones are much nicer with no harshness

If I had the $ I’d replace the alloy in a shot

Not worth ‘replacing’ but worth it if new.

Carbon ones are really nice, love mine. I’ve no idea how you would quantify that betterness in terms of a cash differential. I’d say if you can afford it easily then get the carbon ones.
