We’re going to the Alps in mid June after a week with extended family in the Jura region. We’re looking for a goldilocks location or two with

    Ace Enduro-Gnarr trails
Maybe uplift from funicular/chairs/public transport if available early season
Good camping facilities for family and small children
Enough of a town or activities for grandparents/babysitters/small children.

This is quite a list and we’re going our research but we’ve never had a bike holiday in the Alps so don’t know where to start.

I’m not expecting any of the ski-resort type bike parks or chair lifts to be working early in the season but it would be great to have something to make a half-day much more betterer.

    Any tips?

Leogang and bits of Saalbach/Hinterglemm are open then but it’s more bikepark than enduro. Loads of family stuff to do in the area though.

How about the Jura? Seriously. Otherwise I would head south. Barcelonette. Lac Serre Poncon area.

    What date?

Portes du Soleil has started to open lifts earlyish June, Morzine is a family friendly town, loads to do.
Plus, Crankworx is on mid June in Les Gets.

Thanks for the heads up vinnyeh, I’ll check their dates.

We’re in Jura (renting a house) 10-17 June then free after than til the 24th. I imagine we mght check out Metabief when we’re staying in Jura.

Of course late spring snow might encourage us to stay low down anyway.

Chamonix is an option as bikes are banned from most trails in July and August so June is a good time to go. Some of the lifts will be running for sure, and for non-bikers there’s plenty to do.
