Used the wire beaded Mud X for a while, went to replace them and it seems the Aramide bead versions (Mud X TLR?) are all that is available. Trouble is the side walls appear to be very thin. In the past, when i have used thin side wall tyres and run them tubeless, the sidewalls get slashed (thanks to the south downs flint) and on 2 occasions i trashed a rim as a result.

Is there a alternative to the Mud X or are the TLR versions armoured? Whilst the TLRs are tubeless ready, thicker sidewalls seems to be the only thing that resists flint.
