    For a DT Swiss 3 Pawl Shimano freehub –

    Will the endcap be the same size for 12 X 142 and 148X12 hub?

    It would appear so, yes

    Yes it is, all other things being equal the equivalent DT 142×12 and BOOST hubs use the same end caps.
