Rode some stuff today that I’ve never ridden in the dry before and couldn’t believe how fun it was. What was previously a soggy connecting trail became the highlight of the ride. Hooray weather!

    Ah, home… great pics. 😀

Ever since my first days on an MTB (1990), the Mineries were always the traditional start/end point of a ride. And if anybody had a new bike/fancy bit of kit (a flexstem, for example… ha ha), it was traditional form to ‘debut’ it at the Mineries first.

Yeah I rode down to Wells on the cycle track and Torr Wood to the Cathedral, then up Reservoir Lane, The New Cut and Rookham which is normally a descent, then Durston Drove, Eastwater Lane, Nine Barrows, Priddy Mineries, the normal loop of Stockhill Wood, Hunters’ Lodge, cross fields to Pen Hill, and down Biddle Combe which dumps me near home.

Proper old-skool XC – none of your modern “trail riding” nonsense 😆
