I've a Maverick Speedball (which reincarnated as the CB Joplin), in a remotely 30.9 flavour (retrofitted the remote). It has a 3" drop. There is play in the sense that the 'stanchion' rotates a small amount counter/clockwise, but then they all do this to some extent. There is no fore/aft play.
The 'collar' at the base of the 'stanchion' undoes easily to allow lube/grease maintenance (you can see the grease on the 'stanchion' - it gets a fair bit of TLC): when re-tightening it there's a fine line between too loose (won't keep cr*p out) / too tight (post doesn't rise up smoothly), but it's always worked well for me despite the often temperamental behaviour reported about these types of post. Selling because I've just changed frames and the new one is 27.2
You can even have the old lever/bits if you really want!
Looking for £65 posted but open to offers. Somerset based, and I do travel around the UK a fair bit, so dropoff/pickup may be an option.
