I was given a road bike but havent ridden it. Now starting to feel guilty about not using it or not selling it. My commuter frame has recently cracked and am now thinking of using road bike but changing the bars to flat one but will need to change levers and shifters.

What brake levers would be suitable for a flat bar with paddle shift type shifter? Or would I need to get a seperate shifter to suit?

Please dont suggest turning it into a fixie.

Why? Drop bars good, flat bars bad on a road bike. You'll get used to it, unless it is the wrong size? Too long?

Try riding it before changing it around?

You'll be on the hoods most of the time anyway!

and if you really want to change it i have the whole set up off a giant FCR depending on how many gears you have.

Thats stem-bars – 8 speed shifters and brakes and grips + bar ends

give me a mail if interested.

We changed from flats to drops on my missus bike as she didnt want them at first then started racing and realised she needed them to be competititve
