Driving To Les Arcs from Callis - What is the best route??????????

We went via Paris (left Boulogne at midnight) and came back Troyes.
Just make sure you've plenty of juice if driving overnight.

If you want to save on tolls (£70!!) then head along to Dunkerque and then down to Lille, then south of Mons and then South to Reims and onto Tyoyes. E54, and E21 to Dijon. E39 to Bourg En Bresse. Then head direct to Chambery and into Albertville, Moutiers, Bourg St Maurice.

In summer the motorway via Lyon. Left Trail Addiction at 6.30am on Sat morning. Arrived in Shropshire just before 7.00pm. Stuck on M25 otherwise we believe we could of done it door to door in under 12 hours.
Tolls worth it for fast driving

Did something similar at Christmas - according to my credit card via paris was £30 cheaper (alps -> uk), than going via Troyes/Dijon/Lyon/etc.

The sheer joy of driving on the French motorway system compared to the UK's motorways makes the tolls seem worthwhile and once you get a "telepeage tag" makes life even easier! The route to Bourg St Maurice is,
Calais, Reims, Troyes, Dijon, I then go via Bourg en Bresse to Lyon airport, Chambery, Albertville. I do this route 3-4 time a year and usually reckon on 9 hours with a couple of stops.

Done this route several times. More expensive due to tolls, but as above, once on the motorway its much quicker!

For got to mention that Tom from tomtom will take you via the Mont Blanc tunnel to Coumayeur over the Petit St Bernard pass down to Bourg St Maurice, this is only viable from mid-June to mid October. Loverly route though! and another €35.00 toll for the Mont Blanc tunnel.
