    I’m putting some downlights into our kitchen ceiling. There are bedrooms above so I’ll be getting fire rated (part B) downlights. Like these

    I’ve noticed that you can also buy sound rated ones (part E) i.e. they reduce sound travelling through the wholes I will have cut through the ceiling. Like these.

    Any views on whether the sound proofing is effective enough to justify the extra cost?

    (I’ll be using LED bulbs too).
