Easier to stand at the top of the stairs and kick their heads off, thus blocking the way for others.

Here in London I normally sit downstairs, and definitely do if it’s the evening/night. Reduces the chances of getting hemmed in or approached by some creep. Like most women I know I’ve had a couple of harassment incidents on public transport and have modified my behaviour to suit. 🙄
