Suffering through "the proposition" at the moment, dull as dishwasher. Also wasted 100 minutes of my life watching "where the wild things are" last night, utter tosh.

Apparently go to Ch4 In Bruge is on, now that is a film, unless you are a bender or something.

Kick ass was good entertainment, slightly spoiled by another crappy Nicolas Cage performance, thankfully he didn't feature too much so still well worth watching.
I thought Inception was pretentious mindless drivel, trying too be clever, without actually managing to achieve the aim. A concept movie without the scriptwriting skill to carry it to fruition.
In Bruges was on last night, in case you hadn't noticed

Anything by the uk film council or channel 4 films etc is usually about nine hundred and forty seven billion times more interesting than hollywoods latest offering... if that's any help..
In Bruges was great last night.. followed on bbc2 by another great film featuring Colin Farrell - Intermission

We watched skellig last night which was very good in a non Hollywood sort of way

I hear Inception is OK ...I believe that even Mr Mark 'Hoxton Tw@' Kermode liked it.

Recently watched "I love you Phillip Morris" with Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor which was ace.
But forget movies I have read a few books recently which have been incredible page turners. Highly recommend "Blood Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy. Its like a cross between Apocalypse Now and Pale Rider. Also "Simple Act of Violence" by R J Ellory.

+1 Blood Meridian, an ace read.
Actually, The Road wasn't a bad film.

Well, if you didn't appreciate "The Proposition" there isn't much hope for you I'm afraid. Your film quality barometer is broken. Excellent film. Great writing, acting, cinematography and an excellent score.Just to chime in - I thought Inception was well written, had a strong concept, decent performances and was beautifully shot but was ultimately quite dull and uninspiring.
The execution just didn't live up to the scope of the concept. In the end it played like a duller more pretentious version of the Matrix with ALL of the life sucked out of it. Rather like the Matrix sequels...

'Wish i hadn't makes Dead ringers/Boxing Helena look 'cuddly'
IMDb quote "I've seen Audition, House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, Saw, Hostel, Antichrist and this makes all of them look like Citizen Kane. "
I guess it will prove popular to 'torture porn' junkies and make cult status.
I'll give it a miss

+1.
But you are right about 'Where the wild things...'. i took my kids to see that - I've never been so miserable in a kids film in my life. Boring, whining, depressing, everything the book wasn't. Having said that, there were a couple of beautifully filmed scenes.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Funniest film i've seen all year, with a great soundtrack. Salt was awesome too.
