I needed to see some sort of medical practitioner yesterday for one reason or another.

Balls thinks i after all the posts I see about waiting times and such.

Call my local GP surgery just after 2. No worries, 4:30 OK? or you can come to our after work service from 6-9 for those who work 9-5.

Pop in at 4:30, cool touch screen check in thing which made (yes, i made laser noises when pressing the buttons) seen within 5 minutes and I’m a happy chappy.

    Win.

The reality is often better than the perception with anything NHS/Medical isn’t it.

    There a weird reality gap.

In polls; ask most people their opinion of the NHS and it’s invariably a tale of how bad it it. Ask the same people to rate their individual experience of the NHS, and you’ll get almost the opposite, and they’ll happily tell you how great the experience was and well they were looked after. Seen it myself in feedback sessions, as patient after patient happily contradicted themselves…

Hope you used the hand gel after using the touchscreen 😯 😀

My GP sounds very similar to yours, never waited more than 48 hours and generally get seen the next day.
