‘Sweet Jesus, this is just brilliant!’?

‘Our Own Wars’ by Small Brown Bike.

Check it out if you like emotionally intense rock music, riddled with what late 90’s fanzine writers used to describe as ‘driving, angular guitar riffs’.

Basically, if you ever listened to bands like Jawbreaker, Leatherface or Quicksand you’ll love this.

Perdition City by Ulver (yeah, them again, bit of a recurring theme for me)
    Isa by Enslaved
From Beale Street To Oblivion by Clutch
Fas – Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aternum by Deathspell Omega. Totally mad and totally awesome! It’s a tad dark, mind… 🙂

‘give em enough rope’ by the clash. cant get enough of listening to those first 3 tracks kick in. ‘safe european home’, ‘english civil war’ and then ‘tommy gun’, and knowing ‘stay free’ is still for laters. goosepimples 🙂

Sometimes I read a thread title and think…

‘My god we’ve not done that topic for at least 3 weeks’

in equal measure, i often revisit an album and question why i ever listened to the pile of shite in the first place.

    Yes.

    Paul Simon’s “Graceland”

Popped into my head out of nowhere a few weeks ago and I tracked it down . It invokes so many memories and it’s a fantastic album.

Funny that, I played ‘Songs for a Tailor’ by Jack Bruce for the first time in about 20 years, although I do occasionally sing bits of it (to myself, of course, wouldn’t want anyone else to hear). Brilliant. Weird but brilliant.

Been a decade since I listened to Plans and Designs by Faze Action – found it again, loaded it onto iPod and was pleasantly surprised.
Also, there are those albums that you never get into in the first place. A long train journey and being too tired to press forward allowed me to finally enjoy Charles Mingus’ Black Saint and the Sinner Lady. Mad but awesome.

Every time I read a thread like this I think….

‘My god, no one ever reads these threads as they are too busy adding their own preferences. I could write absolutely anything and even the swear filter probably wouldn’t notice’
