New bike has Sram X1 11 speed. The old one has fairly new 11 speed XT mech / XTR shifter.

I was think of keep the Sram cassette and using the Shimano gears. I prefer Shimano gears and can sell the new Sram stuff for more than the used Shimano bits.

Does Sram / Shimano really play nicely together or is it a bit of a bodge?

In the latest mag there is a review of the shimano 11-46 cassette which claims it works fine with sram gx – can’t recall reading about sram on shimano though.

Yep, works fine, got the mix on two of my bikes and shifts just as well (if not better on one) than when it was shimano only

I have sram mech and shifter, and xt 11 speed cassette. Works perfect
