I thought I'd get some flats for the fattie, give it a try like.
DMR V8s seem popular and decent value for money - similar price to trusty M520s.
Now, when I buy M520s I tweak the release tension, fit them, and bish-bosh all done for a couple (or more) of trouble-free years.
V8s? Not quite the same experience. Take off stupid grease-port gub screw, attempt to squirt magic red shit in there, only to find the syringe plunger is stuck. Press harder and *bam* half the red shit spaffs all over my hand. Squirt remaining red shit into one pedal. Instructions say to squirt till it oozes out. So I attempt to re-fill the stupid syringe but the plunger just detaches from the rubber bit when I pull it out.
So many happy minutes dicking about filling it from the thin end and re-squirt. Grease still not oozing. Refill, swear, repeat. Finally reach the oozing stage, refit the grub screw and twiddle. Bearings are now as smooth as they can be. Which is actually just as grumbly and rough as they were when dry. Repeat for the other pedal, and it's also shit.
I like how the box proudly announces the weight in the corner, forgetting to point out that you have to fill the stupid things with half a pound of *your own* grease because they only supply enough red shit for half a fcking pedal.
I also like the "seals" which needed to be epoxied to the pedal body to provide even a hint of sealing.
They appear to be *piss poor* and have made my *very angry*
