This is probably a daft question but can anyone confirm please whether the cheapy £15-£17 DMR V6 plastic flat pedals are serviceable at all? There doesn’t appear to be a way inside to the spindle or bearings, or even a way to get some grease into there. I guess they are designed to be disposable – they are £15 after all?

I’ve ridden them continuously since May last year (7-8 months) and they are both spinning rough as hell and indeed now squeaking. Bin ’em?

Not sure whether to buy any more – I like the lightness of them and maybe £30 for two sets per year is not a bad price compared with £100+ for posh ones?

    Thoughts?

The endcap is easy enough to remove with something pointy, but there’s not much to do once you’re in there. You could add grease but there’s no way to remove the axle.

Thanks Warpcow, I obviously need a sharper edged screwdriver to get underneath that rubbery end cap but I won’t bother if you reckon there’s nothing to be done inside.
