I’m looking at new TVs and think I have it down to either a Sony or Samsung. One of the things I’d like to do in the future is put a DLNA server in my house for all my DVDs/Music/Pictures.

Does anybody here use DLNA and what is the opinion on which is better as a client. I know Sony has a somewhat restricted codex option (MPEG2 and some Sony one), but can’t find anything on what the Samsung supports.

I had a Sony, but didn’t get around to setting up the DLNA – sent the TV back because of inconsistent colours in the display.

Now have a Panasonic and got the streaming working yesterday after giving up on Windows 7 Media Sharing and installing TVMobili server. Worked instantly with that. Win7 is a nightmare.

Just thought I’d mention it 🙂

I use the DNLA off of my sony blu ray player, it was a minor faff to set up but it’s been ace since.
