My chimneys will need swept before winter kicks down the door and pisses in summer’s shoes.

Last year the chimney sweep was in & out in 10 minutes after relieving me of £80. I see that chimney sweep kits are £20-30 on the bay.

Anyone else sweep their own lums?

I do, I realised that although it takes me a little bit longer than the sweep I do a better job.
I got a specific vacuum as soot will kill the house one, wasn’t expensive. The soot cloth to tape over the open fireplace was hard to find but turned up on the internet.

Do my own – kit from Screwfix. Just got to remember to keep turning the brushes clockwise or the rods unscrew and then you’re stuffed!
