    Hi,

Got new xt brakes and need new rotors. I have an inbred 29er, whats the max size rotor i can put on the rear. The sheer weight of the scaffolding poles and me at 16 stone requires something bigger than 160 mm !

Also and thoughts on mixing different makes of rotor, I do like hope folating rotors.

    All answers welcomed

I would say you could probably fit a 203, but 180 would easily be enough.
I’m running hope floating rotors with Hayes & Shimano with no bother

I’m 14 stone and run a 160 on my inbred 29er. What do you need the extra size for, leverage won’t do much for you on the rear so I assume its more surface area for better cooling. I can look this afternoon when I’m home and see if a 180 will fit.

well, they look snazzy and tough for one!

maybe more surface area means more friction? I have a 160 already on the back and cheers by the way.

it may be how much force a 180 mm can exert on a frame.
