  • Dinosaurs – what subject?

Under what subject do dinosaurs come?

    History?
    Geography?
    Biology?
    Other science?

Evolution is a science but dinosaurs are placed in the Natural History Museum – so where would you categorise dinosaurs?

Geology/biology. History is about people, dinosaurs are not people.

there should be a subject called ‘awesome studies’ which compromises mainly of dinosaurs, sharks, deep sea creatures, space stuff, and using your imagination to create things that make other people happy.

history is stuff that happened in the past. so long as it has been recorded by mankind. so some humans are prehistoric. not recorded etc.

This will tell you all you need to know:

    Conservapedia.

it has to be recorded events. you got me drac that was barely a sentence.

Romans recording (i.e. writing down) their thoughts about the Iron Age societies they encountered = History.

A whole bunch of stuff beforehand that didn’t get documented = Prehistory.

From the way I gather is Prehistory is just another category within History, History is the study of past events.

    Awesomeology for awesome dinosaurs.

Not-quite-awesomeology for the dinosaurs that your kids skip past in the museum as soon as they spot the T-Rex skeleton on wires.

I’ve just read that Conservapedia link.

There are not enough facepalm pictures in the world to convey my sense of despair at the general stupidity on display there.

Yes, thanks for Conservapedia. Is it like “The Onion” for god-botherers? I mean –

Creation science shows that dinosaurs lived in harmony with other animals, (probably including in the Garden of Eden) eating only plants[4]; that pairs of each dinosaur kind were taken onto Noah’s Ark during the Great Flood and were preserved from drowning

    Shirly not sherioush?

That really is some funny shit
    http://conservapedia.com/Evolutionists_who_have_had_problems_with_being_overweight_and/or_obese

Uh-huh – Given that medical science research indicates that being overweight causes brain impairment and that Daniel Dennett has had issues with being overweight, it is ironic that Dennet’s book Consciousness Explained is beloved by those who deny God

It’s palaeontology of course. Or possibly ornithology. Certainly not biology, there ain’t no living dinosaurs, well, apart from some politicians.

Thanks to CountZero and his post yesterday , here, for highlighting Conservapedia.

It’s definitely meant to be serious, but some naughty people have been enhancing certain pages.

Have a look at the genuine Wiki entry for Conservapedia for more info:

There are loads of living dinosaurs:

It’s Palaeontology by the way, studied at university on Geology courses so I suppose it’s a branch of that.
