Maybe 'spanish' your omelette a bit - add in chunks / slices of potato - soften 'em first (microwave?) for a touch of added carbs or is that too close to 'rice and pasta'...?
Yeah, trying to cut potatoes down too, but a good suggestion nontheless.
Curry and naan - make it yourself and it can be healthy.
ah, at that point my suggestion of fish, chips, peas and a buttered muffin / teacake / roll (whatever they call 'em your way) with beer
