Please recommend me a Digital TV provider that uses a BT line.

I don’t want phone or broadband, just TV.
(Does such a thing exist or am I forced into a bundle of some kind?)

Don’t watch a lot of TV, so I’m just looking for the cheapest basic deal.

    Cheers.

    Council Telly

going by the number of satellite dishes in the average council estate that would be Sky

Re. Freview: I don’t have an aerial

Not sure how much it would cost to have one installed though… compared to the price of a cheap digital contract… although in the long run it’d obviously be the cheapest option… and I’d also need to buy a freeview box…

Freesat or Freeview from scratch [if you you don’t have a decoder] will be about the same cost – £150 should do it for most areas

if you have cable in your area VirginMedia will do a TV only package ~£12/month IIRC

Depending how near you are to the transmitter you might get away with an internal aerial for Freeview.
    Worth trying anyway.

If you’ve got broadband then why not just stick with iplayer, 4OD and other sources? No need for an aerial, or TV tax license.

If you’re using iplayer you still need a TV license

You only need a licence if you are watching as it’s being broadcast if your using the iplayer to watch after they have been broadcast you don’t need one.

Yes, but you’ll only be able to watch catch up and not Live TV through iplayer
