We did a St. George's day theme day at our school for year 9. The idea was to celebrate the English national day and all that is good about contemporary, cosmopolitan England in an effort to reclaim the day from its negative nationalist associations. Seemed to go quite well.

My little uns school made a big thing about it. Everyone was dressed in red and white. They learnt some English history and did a lot of activities.

The school is the epitome of the phrase multi-cultural, due to the area we live in. So it was all very inclusive. They're really good with this kind of thing though. They made a huge issue out of remembrance day too, which i thought was great
