During my MTB ride yesterday I developed a pain in my right knee, being an idiot I carried on thinking I would just ride it off, however I’m still suffering now and haven’t experienced any knee related issues in the past.

The symptons are a dull ache under the knee cap and sharp pain if I try to bend my leg more than 45 degrees as though something is tight and stopping it from bending (I can bend it futher but it is very painful to do so)

I initially put it down to the fact that last weekend I bashed my knee on the handle bars when losing traction on a rough climb however I didn’t experience any pain in the week and it only came on half way through the ride yesterday. The only other difference is that I wore my winter boots yesterday and the cleat position is different to what I’ve been used to for the last 6 months.

As far as I can see there is no swelling.

As anyone else experienced similar knee pain and knows what has caused it?
