Assuming bolt circles are the same, a Deore 34t chainring will work as a replacement for an XT 34t chainring, right (2×10 if that makes any difference)?

Pretty sure I know the answer to this but want to make sure before I end up with a chainring I can’t use!

    Same bolt circle, no worries.

I’ve certainly put XT chainrings on Deore cranks before, so I’m sure it’s the same the other way.

Do you think the Deore chainrings will last longer given they are steel vs. the alloy XT?

I suspect so, I had a SRAM gxp crankset on before this and got 3 or 4 chains/cassettes out of it before the granny ring was looking a bit sharky. In comparison, I’ve had to change the granny ring every time I put a new chain on with the XT. Which isn’t too bad as they’re ~£10, but the big XT ring is ~£45 while the Deore is ~£20!
