I was out on a road ride this afternoon, over the course of which I was smiled at and greeted by pedestrians and cyclists (of all types) alike.
In one instance, though, when a car was about to merge onto the road in front of me as I was rolling quickly downhill, a pedestrian near the car shouted ‘hey!’ to get the driver’s attention and stopped him from cutting me up. It all happened very quickly, but I smiled and gave the pedestrian the thumbs up, grateful that he was looking out for me.
All in all, a good day on the road, but a truly remarkable event.
Anyone else been defended from someone else’s ignorance by other road users?
