At the end of a long shift I managed to put a dent in my wheel arch in an empty car park 😈

I’m going to sell the car* and get the dent repaired before I do so. Someone at work is provisonally interested in buying it and happy to tell her about the dent etc but someone else was asking if I’d declared it on my insurance. I was just going to get it repaired and leave the receipt in the service history but not bother to tell the insurance company as I’ll pay for it myself, should I be telling them though?

Unless you want them to pay for the repair, why would you tell them ?

It’s your car. Do what you like with it.

If you break a tea cup at home and then replace it, would you tell your home insurance company ?
