Have narrowed my search for a new hardtail down to 2 bikes both Whytes…
Option one 2012 901 on January special at £1049
Option two 2011 905 on offer at £1280

They both look awesome and will buy one of them, anyone have any thoughts or ridden both/either one? Is the 905 worth the extra £230?

Looked at these myself last year & personally, I’d go for the 905 as I much prefer the spec.

Rebas, Hope hub, better groupset & brakes but best of all you don’t get those horrific Mountain King tyres! That little lot’s got to be worth £200 eh?

Ended up getting a steel framed Genesis (853 tubes, XT & Rebas) for a bargain price instead, but the Whyte 905 was definately next on my list at the time.

905 better base spec in the long run, and all the above.

Thanks i ended up with the 2012 905 and first impressions are great, had an awesome ride last weekend.
