    Recommendations please, to replace a BB7 (which is overkill). Keeping the front disc, for now anyway, as forks have no canti studs.

    assuming your not wanting to spend loads..
    on one has some reduced canti frog legs i think, supposed to be good, or try some canti tektro cr520/720 from ebay or wherever
    not used either but seen people use them and had them recommended to me

    +1 for Tektro CR 520/720s. My Genesis Day1 came fitted with Oryx brakes-were ok with flatbars but pants with drop bar levers. Set of 520s sorted things right out,easy set up too.Can’t see why you’d want to ditch your discs though?

    Only the rear. Being a bit weight weenie, and sick of it ‘singing’ on the commute.

    Brake less then!
    My disc only sings when not braking…..
    The wheel has an XT hub, which in my experience don’t last much longer than a rim.
