Anybody started their tax return yet?
It’s at this point of the year that I regret failing to act on last year’s vow to keep my records in better (or any) order.
If the wife asks, I’m doing it now, honestly.

Did mine just after xmas – and feel dead smug about it – of course I won’t actually submit it and pay it until a minute to midnight.

Need to pop over to my BILs to do mine (he’s got the software and is an ex-accountant) but just finishing off some more urgent stuff* first.

    * Absolutely anything I can think of.

Filed mine months ago as I normally have most information around August. Won’t be paying it until the last minute though.

Accountant? I wish I could justify that. Although it wouldn’t help with the massive pile of assorted documents I’ve just assembled on the kitchen table.

Do it before 30th Dec and you can choose to have any tax owing coming out of next year’s tax code. Thereby effectively paying it monthly via PAYE, 2yrs in arrears. So that’s what I do.

Accountants just done mine (had a mad rush last week sorting it all out). Was initially pretty much bang on what I was expecting but then I realised I missed a big chunk of expenses which dropped it by £1600. Nicely paid for the Trigger and a few other bits I bought before Christmas 😀

Funnily enough, I was just having a Twitter rantette about paying more Corporation Tax than Facebook UK. Oh yeah, and the pharma company I used to work for…

The best 450 quid I spend a year, is for an accountant to do it for me

none of my self employed mates have approached me for help yet this year.

    chimney needs repointing
couple of ridge tiles, mortar fillets
    flashing
    wood flooring for 3 rooms
so i think i have a bit of bartering room when they call.
