I have a day off work to take next week and fancy an xc ride out.
I'm based in North London and don't really fancy a trek to Wales
My options are 1.Swinley ;2.North Downs ;
3.Swindon area and possibly 4.Cannock Chase.
Anywhere else???

With all the rain we've been having which area is holding up well?
Or is it trailraker time pretty much everywhere?
I did the North Downs on Saturday and alot of it was a slog.

I'd bite the bullet and head to wales for the all weather trails, every thing is going to be slop and there is no let up in sight.

As ever I'd say head for the Surrey hills I went out on Sunday and despite it pissing down the day before it was fine.

North London, what about the Chilterns?

You could get the train out to Dunstable and then ride right through to Goring if you are fit, or Princes Risbourgh if you're not – and the train back into town.

Or just drive over and explore around Wendover (get the 1:25000 Chiltern North map).
