Okay, on the large-ish assumption that this isn’t a troll, and you are nearing the age mentioned above (54) then surely you’ve learnt by now the key to anything in life – Just. Be. Yourself.

54 means you can go as low as 34, any lower than that and you’re in dangerous ground.

Got a few friends that have reasonably big age gaps between them and their partners. Biggest is 24 (him 56, her 32) and they are perfect for each other. Same outlook on life, interests, proper peas-in-a-pod. Quite a few older women/younger men too, although they tend to be only a few years difference. Biggest is 5 I think. But the it seems pretty normal to me as there’s 17 years between my parents!

I was dating a girl once upon a time who was 17 when we met (told me she was 19)… I was 32 at the time…. it worked well for a couple of years 🙂

When I was 27 I was dating an 18 year old. 21 years on we are married with two kids 🙂

My Grandad was 50 when he married my Gran at 20. He was a fading aristocracy she was bored with the local urchins, stayed together until he died in his early 90s and she says she has no regrets.

May to December weddings were apparently quite common following the US Civil War, so there’s plenty of historical precedent.

Just personally though, I’m happy being with someone roughly my own age. They know themselves better than youngsters do (as a rule).
