Hello,
I'm going to get rid of the superlight commuter road bike, and go for a more speed oriented road bike. I've been looking at the Cannondale SIX, BMC Race Master SLX, which both seem like good options.
Does anyone have other suggestions for a light, fast road bike?

Hmmm... SRAM looks a bit non-bling, and wont be ready til mid-september.
Having got a crack in my Sportive I would be reluctant to suggest one until its sorted however in the year I have had the Carbon Ribble Sportive I have loved it

A Cannondale Caad9 Ultegra should be doable for £1500

I'm probably about to buy one of these. Having spent the past few weeks looking at the same bikes mentioned above and that Planet X one in particular I think I've settled on the Focus.

I have a 2009 Focus Cayo with full Ultegra, which I really like.
Hmmm... Focus 30-day trial.... how does that work? Is it like the Bontrager comfort period - trash the bike as much as you like within the 30-days, if it's not right, send it back for no cost?
Right then, Googled it myself. Seems like a decent way to buy then try a new bike, 30 days to make sure its the right bike is probably the length i'd need.
Caad 9. The best riding bike in it's class and well above many of those perceived as better. Cracking bike.
The six doesn't have a great reputation, and i did but wouldn't get a px again as it's about as lively as a brick through the back end, really didn't enjoy riding it.
If you can run to 1800, the cube agree gtc race is ok (I have one) but the caad rides better.
I might be a bit too much into my pimp, but I'd prefer something carbon for the beatuiful lines - i just dont like the stock look on alu frames. Which unfortunelty rules out the well recommended CAAD9 
though dales are all smoothy weldy so have a much sleeker look than many alu frames - worth seeing one in the flesh - they are nice.
wiggle's 30 day trial thing is a great idea... they used to do a 7 day one, but it wasn't enough time really to properly assess fit.

I will second the above, Cannondale carbon Six. I have had 1 for 14 months now no probs whatsoever and it turns heads when it is stationary

The suspense is killing me.
Whichever fits best out of what's actually available: road bike stocks are low at the moment, particularly when it comes to the oft-mentioned CAAD9s, Trek 2.xs etc, etc.
FWIW the CAAD9 is amazing (I'll never part with mine), BUT it's a no apologies race bike: arse up, head down and suffer for it.

I'm not fully decided yet - but i really do like the look, and the reviews of the SIX. It ticks the boxes for me at the moment, and is a little under budget - and the SE edition would allow me to upgrade the wheels after the winter to something lighter and a bit more surging.
Feel free to tlel me i'm wrong and to go for the Cayo, or something else though!

I think any paying that much you might as well buy a Trek 5.2 on sale £2300 for a lifetime warranty or even consider Titanium frames.
hang on for a caad10 spoke to 2 cannodale dealers toady who say it looks really good and should be aroun 1300 for 105, 200g lighter frame than the caad9
