from Thornhill to A6187 i'd join the old railwayline that comes down from ladybower at carpark where crosses road just north of thornhill – follow this south to end(shared with heritage trail?) then turn left towards bamford on tarmac road – pass playground then head diagonally veering towards hope across playing fields – a path under railway line pops you out in the corner of the large garden centre carpark and almost opposite the lane to shatton

thanks, thats the one I was thinking of.
Is it proper right of way (for cyclists) now or still technically a footpath?

the old railway line is signposted for cyclists and horses on the gates
( i think! )and has sort instantly forgettable trail name – ridden a lot with no queries
the section under the railway line is a footpath but is very short and makes sense (a gate not stile)
there is a footpath dead opposite where old railway line ends at the farm road which would be quicker but has stiles and i think a no bikes sign on the main road end
