So I gave a colleague a lift home tonight and I had to stop at the petrol station to put air in the tyres of my car. As I pulled up she said ” do I need to get out whilst you put air in the tyres?” Suppose you had to be there, but made me chuckle! Anyone had anything equally daft?

I recently had a client ask me if the specialist winter Wax protection I was applying to their new car would affect the manufacturers warranty.

I once heard someone in a DIY store asking if a tin of rust inhibiting paint was suitable for use on metals.

Whilst studying, I informed my mom that I had achieved 92% in an exam. She replied ‘out of what?’

Its not really a ridiculous question.

It depends on the rating of the tyres if they are designed for a small car like a smart car someone in the car would effect them more than on the likes of a van which tyres would be designed to take loaded weight as well as the vehicle weight.

Once in cafe with a friend they read aloud from the menu “cheese and mushrooms on toast” then puzzled asked me “what’s in that?”

I was in the ticket queue for the Boeing factory tour recently. The girl selling the tickets told the guy ahead of me there would be a seven minute video before the tour. He then asked how long it would last? The queue did a group face palm, and his wife walked off.

Its not really a ridiculous question.

It is really. I often inflate my tyres off the vehicle (winter wheels /summer wheels are stored before they go on)

And when off the van I inflate them to 40psi.

When they are on, that only increased to just under 41psi.

So that’s less than 1psi increase (less than 2%) with the weight of the whole van added to them !

The weight of an average person is going to make such a tiny difference you won’t find a garage tyre machine that could measure it.
