Can anyone recommend some high capacity rechargeable D cell batteries. Most of the ones I’ve found so far only seem to be around 2500 mAh (about the same as a AA cell), I’ve found a few 10000 mAh but they seem mighty expensive.

If you can’t find D cells at a resonable price these could be an alternative solution….

I’d rather have somewhere near the 10000 mAh capacity.

    Maplin have 2x 5,000mAh for £9.99

Otherwise you are looking at £10 each for 10,000mAh

The price is about right tbh as thats 4x a high power AA cell in one D cell.

    I could buy a lot of non-rechargeable’s for £60 + the cost of a charger 🙁

    what voltage does it need?

Might be possible to rig up a lithium ion battery pack.

Given the drip fed info, I’d guess a range of 9V to 6V (6 cells). Which would suit a LiIon pack very nicely. Mind you, a 10Ah LiIon pack isn’t going to be that cheap either.

You’re not kidding! How big is it, about the size of a suitcase?

I’ve been using converters and AA cells for the last few years. Keep it cheap and simple.
