a cheap pair of MTB shoes with toe-studs in the sole that you like the look of and also fit you will be fine

there are a few CX specific shoes about but they tend to be quite spendy, and a lot like MTB race shoes with marketing added

giro privateer seemed ok yesterday. never put the studs in – probably should have.

not an experienced or succesful racer though: maybe i need better shoes. 😆

As above, any xc shoe that fit either with in moulded studs or with holes to mount football studs

Anything that’ll take toe studs will do the job just fine.

Watched some cross racing on bikechanel on sky. The 2 fastest guys had red shoes. Everyone knows red is fast. No idea on make or model tho.

shimano xc51N if they are still available. no mesh so good in the cold wet stuff. Decent grip and take studs. Use mine on long rides, muddy cx races and even the 3 peaks.
