    CYCLIST ASSAULTED: A cyclist was punched and kicked unconscious in Newark in the early hours of Friday morning.

    Did you see the assault? Did you notice a man cycling through the town? If so, call us on 101. If not, you can still help by sharing this post.

    The victim, a 27-year-old man, was cycling home just after midnight on 20 June.

    As he reached the corner of Magnus Street and Friary Road he was subject to an unprovoked attack by a group of men.

    The men punched and kicked him to the floor rendering him unconscious.

    He was taken to Queen’s Medical Hospital where he was treated for cuts and bruising to his face.

    The assault happened just after the England v Uruguay match and police believe the offenders could have been out watching the football earlier in the evening.

    Beer fuelled knob heads no doubt. Hope they catch the offenders.
