The missus wants to get herself a commuter bike via the C2W scheme, has set herself a max budget of approx £450 RRP for the bike. Anyone got any good suggestions for easy going hybrid types?

Not a hybrid but the Spesh Myka HT would be my suggestion if it's only 'easy going' commuting (stick some thin slicks on it). Great woman specific frame, basic 7 speed is only £300, it'll hold it's value loads better than either of those (if it ends up not being used) & is actually a really nice bike.
